SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘ compared and placed SM, JYP and YG Entertainment head-to-head. Which company do you think reigned supreme?
Appearing on the March 6th evening broadcast of ‘Strong Heart’ was Choi Hal Ri, who shared,
“When I was a 12-year-old child, I hoped to become an idol. I want to know the pros and cons of each agency.”
At this time, representing SM, YG and JYP, Super Junior‘s Shindong, Se7en and miss A‘s Suzy gave a briefing on each of their respective companies.
Se7en was the first to open his mouth.
“I entered YG Entertainment 13-14 years ago, and at the time, there was nothing I could really brag about. However, I feel the trainees now work in the best environment. They have nice facilities with air conditioning and heating as well as a fitness center. They also have a nutritionist, who provides three cooked meals a day. The drawback is the long training times. In my case, I took 4-5 years, and Big Bang and 2NE1 also trained for over 4 years.”
On the other hand, Shindong made the studio laugh with his comment,
“SM does not force us to exercise nor do we have a nutritionist. You can cook and eat whatever you like. I entered SM and actually gained 10 kg. It depends on you wanting to improve yourself.”
Also on set that day and from the same company as Shindong was SNSD‘s Seohyun, who gave her account,
“SM’s point is having an upright character. I did not have the talents to be a celebrity, and I was called out on it during my audition. I sang the children’s song ‘The Story of Wildflower,’ and SM seemed to see potential in me.”
Finally, Suzy received a standing ovation from the studio with her input,
“JYP Entertainment teaches you a lot. We learn the basics, singing and dancing, and we also have to go through sex education. A specially invited instructor would come, and we would listen to an organized lecture.”
miss A member Min added,
“We would receive some good songs from outside composers, but we only did Park Jin Young‘s songs.”
Meanwhile, besides Se7en, Suzy, Min and Seohyun, this episode of ‘Strong Heart’ also featured appearances by K.Will, Park Eun Hye, Park Kyung Lim and Choi Hal Ri.
