GD&TOP, a subunit of five-member idol group Big Bang comprised of members G-Dragon and TOP, are set to collaborate musically with British pop star Pixie Lott.
By the end of this month, Pixie Lott will release a worldwide album containing new songs. However, the album has attracted attention as one of Pixie Lott’s songs, “Dancing On My Own,” will feature rap by GD&TOP.
When the track list for Pixie Lott’s new album was released via a Japanese music reservation site, fans became aware of the fact that GD&TOP’s rap would feature on “Dancing On My Own.”
Officials from Big Bang’s agency, YG Entertainment, confirmed the fact in an interview with Star News on Wednesday.
The official from YG stated, “It’s true that Pixie Lott worked with G-Dragon and TOP,” and added, “You could say that their featuring is like that of a duet.”
He followed up by saying, “We’re familiar with Pixie Lott on the YG side, and this collaboration with Pixie Lott and G-Dragon and TOP came about through YouTube. We hope to have YG artists continue to collaborate with worldwide musicians in the future.”
Pixie Lott, who was born in 1991, is a British singer-songwriter whose debut song “Mama Do,” released in June of 2009, topped charts soon after its release. Her songs became popular in Korea after appearing on the television show “K-pop Star.”
In 2010 Pixie Lott was named as the “Most Anticipated Rookie” by Billboard music charts, and her music has won many awards in the UK.
